Showing God's Love to Holocaust Survivors

Time is running out. Every day, we lose more Holocaust survivors, and many of those remaining live in poverty and isolation. With approximately 165,000 Holocaust survivors still living in Israel—most now in their 80s and 90s—the window to serve this precious generation is closing rapidly. Our initiative brings God's love to these survivors through practical care, companionship, and honoring their legacy while meeting urgent needs.

A Sacred Responsibility

As of 2025, there are approximately 165,000 Holocaust survivors living in Israel, with many now in their 80s and 90s. The majority of these survivors were born in Europe, particularly in countries such as Poland, Romania, and Hungary. Shockingly, one in three lives below the poverty line, struggling with basic needs like food, medicine, and heating. Many face ongoing challenges related to physical health, social isolation, and economic difficulties.

Comprehensive Care Program

1. Basic Needs Support

Meeting immediate physical needs in the following ways:

  • Emergency food packages and hot meals
  • Medications and medical equipment
  • Heating assistance in winter months
  • Home repairs and safety modifications
  • Dental and vision care

2. Companionship

Combating isolation through our dedicated on-the-ground team in Israel:

  • Regular home visits by trained volunteers
  • Adoption programs pairing families with survivors
  • Holiday celebrations and social gatherings
  • Technology training for virtual connections
  • Memory preservation projects

3. Medical & Home Care

Blessing Broker has an on-the-ground team in Israel dedicated to expressing God's love to Holocaust survivors by providing practical support and, most importantly, spending quality time to address their emotional needs. Our team understands that beyond physical assistance, these precious survivors need human connection and emotional care.

Hope and Resilience

This is Jo. He fled the war in Ukraine, leaving behind a world torn apart by conflict, and found refuge in Israel.

With hope and resilience, Jo and his daughter became one of 40 families welcomed with open arms as they made Aliyah—returning to their ancestral homeland.

Thanks to our generous partners and Blessing Broker's dedicated on-the-ground team in Israel, Jo and his daughter received more than just a new citizenship. They were embraced by a community that provided practical essentials—furniture to create a home, blankets to bring comfort, and many other necessities to start anew.

Today, Jo shares a joyful moment with David and Denise Blakeslee on one of their trips to Israel, symbolizing new beginnings and the enduring strength of the human spirit.

Through the kindness of our partners and team, Jo and his daughter are building a future filled with hope, safety, and the promise of a brighter tomorrow.

They now believe in God because they see God through all the acts of kindness that were displayed in one of the most trying times of their lives.

Your support makes stories like Jo's possible.
